U15 Skills Training Program (2006 - 2007 Born)
Primary Focus: Players should already have a good level of individual technical skill (dribbling, passing, receiving, striking the ball etc.) which means that our focus shifts towards the principles of play within a team setting as well as developing the mentality to compete at a high level.
At this point soccer is usually the player’s primary sport and we continue to challenge players to compete and train at the highest possible standards. Demanding psych-social aspects such as commitment, hard work, resiliency, achievement drive, competitiveness, focus, self-control and self-awareness are all emotional competencies we try to build through training. Athletes are regularly exposed to challenging principles of play, defending and attacking in units, positional awareness, and competitive meaningful matches.
Our coaches not only have knowledge and emotional competency to improve the players but also possess a very high degree of actual playing experience. The coaches who power this program have experience ranging from U-Sport (CIS), Semi-Professional, and Professional ranks.
Astra maintains the highest standards in the province for coach education and resources to ensure that our coaches are continuous learners and developing with the latest and most proven training techniques. Our coach philosophy revolves around professionalism, commitment, confidence, leadership, and mutual respect at every session.
